Fishing Adventure In New Zealand

During April and May 2017 I will travel to the beautiful north Island of New Zealand. Widely known as one of the world’s best trout and salmon fishing destinations but also an amazing salt water destination where my Fishing Adventure In New Zealand will be focused.

I have done a fair amount of research in advance for the trip and some of the questions I ask myself I have been able to answer by looking at the websites below

Q: What fish species are there in New Zealand?

A: http://www.fishspecies.nz

Q: What season am I going to be fishing in and what fish will be best to target?

A:  http://www.newzealand.com/ie/article/new-zealands-fishing-seasons/

Q: What are Snapper, where can I find them and how can I catch them?

Q: What are Kingfish, where can I find them and how can I catch them?

Q: If I am going to get a charter boat who could I use?

Q: If I am going to fish from the shore where could I start?

From the reading that I have done It is clear to me that I need to be targeting Snapper and Kingfish as the most accessible species of fish. Fortunately for me I have a fair amount of salt water gear that may be of use whilst I am there and will go into more detail about the fishing tackle techniques that I use as I write updates for my Fishing Adventure In New Zealand over the coming weeks. Needless to say I am am super excited and can’t wait to cast a line and feel the adrenaline rush of striking into one of these awesome fish.
